The different financing options for your vocational training: the complete guide!

Professional retraining, evolution towards internal mobility or return to work... More and more employees and job seekers want to follow vocational training to acquire new skills or strengthen their knowledge. But training costs, which are sometimes high, can be an obstacle to these various projects. Fortunately, many mechanisms exist to participate in the financing of vocational training, such as the CPF.

Do you have a training project? We take stock of various existing financial aids according to your professional situation and eligibility requirements.

How to use the CPF to finance your training?

The Personal Training Account is the most well known training aid. This public financing system is aimed at all active persons (employees and job seekers) wishing to undertake a training action.

How does the CPF work?

Each person has a CPF account and begins to acquire training rights as soon as they enter the job market, until they retire. So, if you work full-time, or at least part-time, your Personal Training Account is powered by €500 each year up to the maximum ceiling of €5,000.

All or part of the training costs may be covered under the CPF, depending on the amount you have in your account. On the other hand, since May 2, 2024, each learner must also participate in the financing of his training up to €100.

Your training rights can be used at all times, throughout your career, even if you change jobs. If you are currently looking for a job, you cannot accumulate new rights, but you can use those already acquired to finance training and facilitate your professional reintegration.

What courses are eligible for the CPF?

This financial assistance concerns qualifying or certifying training. The training must meet one of the following objectives:

  • Acquisition of a qualification (diploma, professional title, professional certification, etc.);
  • Acquisition of the knowledge and skills base;
